Andy MaddocksOur previous Chairman's message

I have been a member of the BDRA for over 40 years and Vice Chairman for the last 3 years. I have seen many changes in its role, from having majority control of the Basildon Council to the present.

It is an organisation that has provided a great deal of help and advice to the Residents of Billericay and District over the years, the interests of the people and the area being paramount.  The BDRA is continually evolving and the recent merger with BAG is clear evidence of this.

I always welcome the views from residents as to how they see the Association now and what changes they would like to see for the future.

I look forward to the challenges in my new role as Chairman of the BDRA. I do believe that following the merger with BAG, we now have an even stronger team of talented people working for the people of Billericay.

Having said that, there is still a need for more people to become involved in this organisation, particularly in the two Area Committees.
This would then provide the seed corn leading to future positions on the Executive Committee for those people who wished to do so.

My belief is that we all have a role to play in Billericay and District however large or small.

Do sign up to join the BDRA and be part of an Association, which has been in existence for 92 years and is an influential voice for ensuring residents views are heard.
