The Planning Inspector responsible for assessing Basildon Council's draft Local Plan has asked the Council to make some significant changes to the Plan and to hold another public consultation on certain aspects.

We believe this provides an ideal opportunity for a better plan and as a result the BDRA Chair has written to Andrew Baggott, Leader of the Council, to ask him to consider the situation and to make positive changes for the benefit of our town. The letter has also been copied to John Baron, our local MP.

We will publish any responses we receive and a meeting has already been arranged.

The next few months will be critical to the evolution of the Basildon Local Plan and will dictate the final outcome. Our local and national representatives should now stand up for those residents that elected them and do the right thing.
