Local plan latest
The new Strategic Planning & Infrastructure Committee at its meeting on 28 June agreed a new Local Development Scheme, the timetable which includes the Local Plan. This will now be submitted to Full Council on 19 July for formal approval. The Regulation 19 Consultation has slipped to Q3 2018 and the adoption of the Plan will now be in Q3 2019. Our planned Drop-in Events on 15 and 29 September have been cancelled.
The SP&I Committee will hold 6 sessions to address individual aspects of the LP, including one on 17 July to address the South West of Billericay, and another, date unknown, to address the model to be adopted for the provision of Gipsy, Traveller and Travelling Showmans Accommodation. The 17 July meeting is focussed on the additional 300 houses which accompanied the now rejected TaylorWimpey road through Frith Wood. TaylorWimpey have submitted a revised justification for their road and 300 house proposal. We intend to have representation at the meeting and will speak if allowed. Even if the 300 houses are removed the Plan still targets over 2700 houses on Billericay and we continue to believe the Plan to be unsound.
Discussions are ongoing with our Planning Consultants, Cheffins, and a meeting is being arranged with a Traffic Planning Expert.
